Ahir Shah + Adam Hess:
Edinburgh Previews
FRIDAY 22ND JUNE - 8:00PM
Join us at the Landor pub, a stone's throw from Clapham North tube, for the third in our series of Edinburgh previews, this time with two of the finest stand-up comedians in the UK. Doors at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. 9pm interval, finish 10.15pm. £10 in advance or £12 on the door.
ADAM HESS
Adam is a stand-up comedian, actor, TV writer and general cheeky-guy from London. He can't imagine the queen with wet hair and he finds it hard to get his head around the fact that his cat has a grandad but he is keeping an open mind. A woman in a car park in Gibraltar once granted him a wish when he was 6 and he wished that he could fly. Nothing yet but he won't give up dreaming. That's kind of what Adam is all about.
"For good quality gags per minute, there is no better comedian" ★★★★ The Independent.
"Relentlessly entertaining, full of beautiful imagery" ★★★★ Time Out.
AHIR SHAH
Ahir Shah is, at the time of writing, a funny and good stand-up comedian. He began doing comedy occasionally at the age of fifteen (i.e. too young), and over the course of the last decade his status has skyrocketed from "curiosity" to "interloper". Shah's sharp, intellectual brand of stand-up features a blend of philosophical inquiry, political vigour, and sweet gags.
"One of his generation's most eloquent comic voices" ★★★★ The Daily Telegraph.
"Fiendishly clever and furious" ★★★★ The Times.
★★★★ The Sunday Times ★★★★ The Scotsman ★★★★ The List
